Staff Optometrist, Employed Multi ' Specialty Group Practice

 

A vibrant and growing regional non-profit healthcare organization, located in desirable south central Massachusetts is seeking an Optometrist to join a multi-specialty group practice.

 

The Staff Optometrist provides comprehensive quality eye care to a broad range of patients, engages in clinical teaching, and assists the clinical director in clinical operations. The Staff Optometrist also adheres to all clinical operations, including patient care, compliance with regulatory agencies/requirements (e.g. OSHA, DPH, JCAHO), infection control, quality assurance, equipment maintenance, patient complaints, and incident reporting. Provide comprehensive quality eye care. Provide hands-on care while achieving the highest levels of appropriateness, quality, efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness. Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness.

 

Diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system. Examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment. Prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions. Maintain knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides. Analyze test results and develop a treatment plan. Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
