Amentum is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our team in McLean, Virginia As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities on a project site as delineated in the applicable procedures and Site Specific Safety Plan. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Implements the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities
  • Ensures timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
  • Acts as the primary customer contact for all construction project field activities.
  • Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
  • Functions as a Project Manager on a direct-hire construction-only project or as the field manager on an engineering/ procurement/construction management project.
  • Under minimal supervision, manages small to medium size projects or a major geographic area on a mega project.
  • Responsible to a member of the Project Managers job family or the Operations Manager job family.
  • Completed work is reviewed for desired results.
  • Establishes field objectives and procedures within company guidelines as necessitated by conditions at the job site.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Construction related discipline or demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 8+ years construction and project related experience.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of all engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management. This is a journey level position and the first level of Construction Management.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Position may require travel.  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Outdoor environment with exposure to weather; walking on uneven ground; lifting; carrying; griping; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills; must use required personal protective equipment; and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.  Position may require travel.
