About the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership
Formed in 2005, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP) provides a collaborative platform for advancing the Atlanta BeltLine project. ABP’s mission is threefold: to enable the construction of more parks and trails by raising money from the private sector and philanthropic community to engage the public through programming, events, and activities, and empower BeltLine residents through partnerships that bring about positive outcomes in health, housing, and economic opportunity.


In delivering its mission, ABP works closely with Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI), which was formed in 2006 to manage the implementation of the Atlanta BeltLine project. Tasked with overseeing the planning and execution, ABI works closely with City of Atlanta departments to define details of the plan, secure public funding, inform and engage members of the community, and serve as the overall project management office for the construction of the trails, transit, parks, and other vital components.

Position Overview

Reports to: Engage Coordinator      Employment Status: Part-time, hourly

As a Lead Volunteer, you will serve as the face of the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership in the community. You'll play a crucial role in executing volunteer projects, educating, informing, and engaging with the public about the Atlanta BeltLine project and its impact on the city. This volunteer role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about urban development, community engagement, and sustainable city planning.

Key Responsibilities

● Execute Group Volunteer Projects:

    a. Conducted and led BeltLine trail beautification projects on weekdays and weekends, providing groups with supplies and instructions as needed.

● Public Outreach:

    a. Engage with the public at BeltLine events, trailheads, parks, and other locations to provide information, answer questions, and promote the project's goals.
    b. Distribute promotional materials and resources about the Atlanta BeltLine to visitors.

● Community Engagement:

    a. Act as a liaison between the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and the community, fostering positive relationships and gathering feedback and insights from community members.

● Support Events:

a. Assist in the coordination and execution of BeltLine events, such as festivals, races, and community gatherings.
b. Help with event setup, registration, and logistics.

● Data Collection:

a. Collect and document visitor/volunteer data and feedback to help improve the Atlanta BeltLine experience.
 

Education & Experience
● Passion for community development, urban planning, and sustainable city initiatives.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Enthusiasm for engaging with the public and providing information.
● A willingness to learn and convey the details of the Atlanta BeltLine project.

Compensation & Benefits
Lead volunteers will be paid $20/hour and should expect to work approximately eight hours a month.
