Grand Canyon University’s College of Natural Sciences, is seeking a full-time faculty Teaching Assistant.  The primary focus of this role is to provide supplemental learning resources in the classroom to ensure student success.

Location:                          Main Campus, 33rd and Camelback

What you will do:

  • Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.

  • Observes students’ performance, and records relevant data to aid instructor in assessing progress

  • Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material

  • May facilitate additional ad hoc lectures as a refresher to classroom formal lecture

  • Assists with grading assignments

  • Proctors occasional make up examinations/assignments

  • Assists faculty leads with special projects as needed

  • Assists with training and mentoring of part time Instructional Assistants

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution

  • Must have sufficient courses in all college program related disciplines of assistance needed as well as having received a grade of B or higher in each.

  • Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively mentor and guide students.

  • Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior congruent with GCU’s pillars and mission with a commitment to Christian ideals and philosophy.

  • Ability to develop collaborative and cooperative relationships with committees, colleagues, faculty, and administration.

  • Must pass pre-employment background investigations.
