Serves as Contract Specialist and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) responsible for planning and recommending execution of contractual actions and phases for assigned projects.

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

-Performing contracting transactions from initiation to recommendation of award procurement of items or services with specialized requirements.

-Analyzing the requirements and recommending revisions to the statement of work or specifications. -Utilizing in-depth price/cost analysis techniques involving different and unrelated factors and processes where there is little historical data or precedent to support the development of cost-related sections of complex solicitation documents, analyzing cost data and price re-determination/price order/labor and material costs.- Performing detailed contract administration activities, including monitoring and recording contractor performance, approving progress payments and reviewing and providing recommendations on contractor proposal resulting from change orders, scheduling, and similar activities.

-Managing the custody and execution of government furnished property (GFP) for assigned contracts and contractors and operating as Trusted Agent (TA) and Sponsor for background clearances.

For all Contracting Series, 1102 positions at GS-5 through GS 12:

Selectee must meet position requirement for Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Professional certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

Recruitment Incentive: Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent position are authorized to receive a one-time recruitment incentive of 10% of the salary, including locality for this position. Receipt of the bonus will require a 12-month service agreement.

Relocation Incentive:  Selectee(s) for this position who are current federal employees on permanent appointments who would be moving outside of the current commuting area of their current position to accept this position are authorized to receive a one-time relocation bonus of 10% of the salary including locality for this position. Receipt of the bonus will require a 12-month service agreement. The employee must establish a residence in the new geographic area prior to payment.

Student Loan Incentive:  Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year. More than one loan may be repaid if the combined repayments do not exceed $10,000. Receipt of this incentive will require a three-year service agreement.
