Job Description:
Are you passionate about protecting data privacy and ensuring justice in the digital age? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Breach Attorney to join our legal team. As a Data Breach Attorney, you will play a critical role in representing clients who have been affected by data breaches, advocating for their rights, and navigating the complex legal landscape surrounding data privacy and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities:
- Client Representation: Provide legal representation to individuals, businesses, or organizations affected by data breaches. This includes assessing the impact of the breach, advising clients on their legal rights, and advocating on their behalf in legal proceedings.
- Legal Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis pertaining to data privacy laws, cybersecurity regulations, and relevant case law. Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in data breach litigation.
- Litigation Support: Assist in all aspects of litigation related to data breaches, including drafting legal documents, preparing for hearings, and representing clients in court. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners as necessary.
- Compliance Guidance: Offer guidance to clients on compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other applicable standards. Help clients develop and implement data security protocols to mitigate the risk of future breaches.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the potential legal and financial implications of data breaches for clients. Develop strategies to minimize liability and protect clients' interests.
- Client Education: Educate clients on their rights and obligations regarding data privacy, cybersecurity best practices, and the legal remedies available in the event of a breach. Provide training to internal stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on data privacy, cybersecurity, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations, including familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other relevant statutes.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex litigation matters and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and protecting client confidentiality.
