GENERAL SUMMARY
The role of the Continuation Engineer I is to perform product changes, manage support requests, ensure product compliance to industry standards, maintain product line viability, define and assist lab testing, and manufacturing and Quality Control.
This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK’s hybrid work schedule.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Perform Engineering tasks in the maintenance of product lines and cost reduction
- Perform product changes for safety, performance, production improvements, and cost reductions (including offshore sourcing).
- Manage requests to prioritize tasks with supervisor guidance.
- Support the maintenance and certification of product lines to industry standards.
- Maintain 2D/3D CAD database, BOMs, and technical documents by product line.
- Provide technical assistance based on guidance from supervisor.
- Participation in development of product specifications, and compliance to customer specifications.
- Produce conceptual designs.
- Analyze designs with guidance from SME, using engineering analysis tools and techniques such as 3D Modeling, FEA, and CFD.
- Maintain instruction manuals and product literature.
- Define, with guidance from SME, and assist lab tests to certify proof of design.
- Assist manufacturing with implementation of product and process changes.
- Conduct design reviews alongside SME, for manufacturability, performance, and product family accuracy.
- Perform tolerance analyses.
- Provide input on own tasks to team leaders.
- Work task to task.
- Schedule own work tasks with guidance from leaders.
- Create and maintain 3-month project schedules with guidance from leaders.
- Working with team members to ensure completion of project objectives on-time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Understanding of valve and actuator design preferred.
- Understanding of metal castings and precision machining preferred.
- Familiar with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks experience preferred) to create and manipulate models, assemblies, drawings, animations.
- Familiar with finite element analysis preferred.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
- Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of lab testing and documentation.
- Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
- Factory floor support is imperative.
- The physical requirements of the job are related to testing in the engineering lab, field service activities that can be part of the job assignments or handling component parts in the plant during a quality inspection.
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
