This position serves as a Park Ranger for the West Desert District.
Conducting patrols and monitoring visitor use activities in designated Wilderness areas.
Performing day to day operations and minor maintenance tasks at developed fee sites, dispersed camping sites, motorized and non-motorized trails and trailheads.
Advising visitors about safety, fire prevention, public land etiquette, and authorized uses of recreational facilities.
Coordinating and supporting volunteers and volunteer projects.
Assisting with fee collection activities, maintaining fee accounting records, and submitting deposits.
Assisting with management of Special Recreation Permit program, monitoring competitive events and authorized permit activities.
Presenting a positive image of the BLM and conducting visitor contacts in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.
Demonstrating general knowledge of agency policies and objectives related to the management of special designation areas.
