This is a rotating 2-2-3 schedule working on days - 5:54am - 6:06pm
Scope of the Role
-Takes initiative to drive team and production processes to maintain safe and efficient operation while producing high quality products.
-Supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives to drive continuous improvement to the production line or other areas as assigned. Continuously looks for and helps to implement improvements to the process to improve productivity, quality, and reduce costs. Supports other leaders as needed and performs other related duties specific to the department assigned.
-Supports and actively participates in training and development of operations team through the TCIP process. Responsible for training, documenting, following and revising all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Training Completions Statements (TCS), Current Good Manufacturing Practices, (cGMP), compliance, safety, programs and policies.
-Provides direction to employees to resolve production or other area problems.
-Provides leadership as a frontline supervisor and operator coverage during absences.
-Participates on CI Steering Committee and Safety Committee. Performs as an LPA Auditor and Area trainer. Conducts huddle meetings and facilitates accurate communication to team.
-Must be trained or qualified in all areas of operations or willing to commit to learning any area of operations.
Experience Required
-High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
-Demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills and good communication and presentation skills.
-Strong problem and analytical skills; sound decision making skills; and demonstrated ability to motivate others with minimal supervision are important.
-Ability to multitask, use job related tools, have effective record keeping skills and ability to encourage change.
-Mathematical and technical ability is required along with reading comprehension skills and be able to read, speak and comprehend instructions including procedure documents, as well as proofread alpha and numeric data.
-Knowledge of and experience with technology tools to support the operations function including literacy and familiarity with automated record systems, SAP and/or related systems and Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate through computer-based training systems.
-Training certification will be required in all manufacturing areas if not previously completed.
-Must meet all locally defined training requirements.
-Minimum of 1-year manufacturing experience at the Covington, Ohio Perrigo facility, 2 years preferred.
-Demonstrated performance via the Performance Management Review process with a Solid Performer rating or higher on the most recent review.
-3-5 years of manufacturing experience required, preferably in the food industry.
-2-3 years proven mechanical experience working in high performance team environment.
-Knowledge and actual hands on experience working in a batch operating environment and with automated systems preferred.
-6 Sigma and 5S knowledge or experience highly desirable.
Physical requirements:
Consistently/Frequently – Stand, walk, lift 50 lbs., pulling and pushing, grasp, move items, feel with hand/fingers, climb stairs/ladders
Occasionally – Sit, stoop/bend, squat, kneeling, twisting, reach, reach above shoulders and head
Rarely – Lift above shoulders and head 25 lbs.
Environmental:
Consistently/Frequently - exposure to loud noises/machinery and exposure to chemicals Occasionally - exposure to hot conditions including room temperatures of 90+ degrees Fahrenheit.
Other qualities:
Consistently/Frequently - see (vision), ability to see colors, hear, ability to read and write, ability to interpret information, basic math, reading and writing in English. Simple problem solving may be required to adjust process parameters based on data readouts and machine feedback and document corrections to batch records and other controlled documents using cGMP-compliant practices. Simple decision-making skills are expected to read and interpret work instructions and SOPs and then decide on appropriate courses of action based on the guidance provided.
