The Blackburn Inn & Conference Center is searching for individuals who are genuinely friendly and are invested in providing top-notch guest experiences to join our On-Call Banquet Staff team. Banquet Staff may be placed in one of three crucial roles per event: Server, Bartender and/or Dishwasher. As a member of our events team, you will typically be working alongside additional Banquet Staff to accomplish the following:
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for menu details, room/event set-up diagrams; plus food, beverage and audio-visual needs.
- Event set-ups & break-downs: buffets, tables, chairs, plate sets, bar, AV equipment, garbage, clean-up, etc.
- Ensuring quality presentation & serving of food.
- Prepare and serve beverages.
- Efficiently and properly uphold Blackburn Inn service & etiquette standards.
- Adhere to all liquor liability laws (ID checking, training, etc.).
- Maintain communication with the kitchen for updates.
- Dishwashing & clean-up.
- Other appropriate duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Customer service experience required.
- Bartending experience preferred, but not required (OJT may be provided for the right candidates, 21+).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive & energetic.
- Ability to work in high pressure situations.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Professionalism in all aspects of service.
- Tidy appearance & uniform: All black shirt (provided), apron (provided), pants & non-slip shoes.
- Ability to carry trays, maneuver up to 50lbs and hustle on your feet for extended periods.
Reports to: Chef & General Manager
May Take Directives from: Sales Director, Sales Manager
Required Certifications: RSVP, Human Trafficking & ServSafe (may be completed upon hire).
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $14.00 per hour plus Service Gratuity
