We’re currently looking for a Battery Management System Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.

This role will be responsible for technical support of Nissan North America’s EV battery Powertrain activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing future EV battery pack and battery management system (BMS) design.

Job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Battery pack system design
  • Battery management system (BMS) design -- software requirement definition, functional safety design (ISO26262), and its validation
  • Prototype and validation of battery pack performance
  • Work with Nissan Japan battery team to decide competitive QCT target
  • Work with the battery parts designer and/or BMS supplier to achieve the goal – Project management, manufacturing process audit, technical support, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive engineering and/or battery engineering
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to deliver creative solutions to complex problems in an environment without established processes
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, cross-functional environment with other technical and non-technical disciplines both internal and external
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Knowledge of batteries, modules, software and cells
