Introduction
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for reviewing the technical inputs and historical data in order to define and communicate the QA requirements to be applicable to manufacturing through QA documents.
Your role plays a crucial part in reviewing, inspecting, and defining disposition for materials in Screening Business Line, Consumables to ensure that pre-established product requirements are met prior to shipment. The Quality Engineer updates, controls and organizes QA documentation and evidence related to materials In this position, you will report to the Operations Manager.
This position is mainly located in Iron Mountain, Michigan but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. however, the role involves up to 50% travel.
What you'll do
Review technical and customer requirements during the proposal phase Ensure the capability of meeting customer requirements related to QA prior to submitting final approval Testing, final inspection and approval for Screen assembly Deploy customer and technical requirements through specific QA documents Prepare and keep updated the QA documentation (ITPs, Quality Plan, Data Books, Quality Specifications, Quality Procedure, Supplier Manual, Data Books, Manufacturing Data Report and etc.) Provide disposition (approval/rejection) of the products through Jaggaer process. Verify the compliance with requirements pre-established through inspections and document review Perform internal audits in the QMS Manage EAs, GM and QNs with suppliers and internal
Who you are
Associate Degree or equivalent experience working in a Quality Department (manufacturing environment preferred)
Experience:
Understands and has experience working with manufacturing,fabrication, welding, machining, assembly and painting. Adept at reading / interpreting engineered drawings and prints is required, including, but not limited to geometric dimension & tolerance (GD&T) principles, materials specs, NDT standards, and others. Capability of understand international standards requirements such as ASME, AWS, ASTM, ISO and etc. Experience with inspections such as visual of castings, dimensional (including CMM), weld inspection, paint inspection (NDT is a plus). Understands and has experience with supplier monitoring and development techniques. Must have direct experience in Quality Assurance practices and concepts. Knowledge in Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 (experience as internal auditor is a plus) Direct relevant experience in the construction, heavy equipment, or mining industries is preferred Must possess a valid driver's license and must have authorization to work in the United States Strong oral and written communication skills, adequately addressing all internal & external stakeholders
