Atlanta Women's Health Group (AWHG) is active in growing a team of experienced Obstetrician/Gynecologists to enhance its OB/GYN hospitalist program at Northside Hospital-Atlanta, Cherokee and Forsyth. AWHG is more than 130-physician strong with over 40 certified nurse midwives, and collectively is one of the largest OB/GYN groups in the southeast, responsible for serving approximately 400,000 patients, representing over 500,000 visits annually, and delivering approximately 16,000 babies annually.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

In-house obstetric coverage for AWHG patients (ante-partum, labor & delivery, and post-partum)All obstetrical and non-obstetrical emergencies such as maternal code blues, shoulder dystocia, prolapsed cord, maternal and gynecologic hemorrhage and shockAll C-section and vaginal deliveries if the patientâs obstetrician is not yet available or detained with another patientOB/Gyn Hospitalist will start (and finish if needed) all deliveries mentioned aboveOB/Gyn Hospitalist will manage all unassigned patients (when the patient does not have an obstetrician) in ante-partum, labor & delivery, and post-partum wardsOB/Gyn Hospitalist will cover all gynecology emergencies, in particular ectopic pregnancies, hemorrhage and shock due to gynecologic problemsOB/Gyn Hospitalist will be available for nurse and/or physician consultations, and will receive shift reports from the Labor and Delivery Charge NurseOB/Gyn Hospitalist will round daily on the patients, as appropriate, in L&D and Family Centered Care (post-partum)OB/Gyn Hospitalist will act as first assistant on emergency C-sections, hysterectomies, and ectopic pregnancies when a surgical assistant is not readily availableOB/Gyn Hospitalist will accept and manage maternal transfersOB/Gyn Hospitalist will attend to in house GYN consults

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Medical License in Georgia: MD or DOBoard certification in Obstetrics and GynecologyCertification in Adult Resuscitation5 year minimum of Labor and Delivery experienceProficiency with hospital EMR systems

Hours: Rotating 24hour shifts, 8-9 calls per month (or 104 per year), full time averages to 2 - 24 hour shifts per week - during call shift, the physician must remain on the hospital campus

Compensation: Subject to location ($105/hr. - $135/hr.), plus remote backup-call opportunities
