Job Description:

To drive innovation and to sustain competitive Product Performance, it is essential to create and maintain a solid pipeline of palatability/flavor solutions.

The Palatability Governance & Application Senior Scientist is acting as the company´s expert in Palatability/Flavor application, responsible for running projects and activities to develop and implement an efficient portfolio of solutions.

 

What are we looking for?

 Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, food engineering, bioscience, chemistry or science related technical field

  • 3+ years’ experience on Innovation projects, new product implementation, new raw materials implementation and related projects

  • Strong scientific background on food science and technology

  • Practical experience in an industrial setting on developing and implementing raw materials, ingredients or products in Food/Chemical or related companies.

  • Project Management experience, leading technical projects and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in global, cross-cultural environment ideally of the food industry, consumer goods.

  • Experience in Experimental Design and interpretation of results for decision making.

  • Experience in implementing products/ raw materials in industrial scale.

  • Experience in leading with internal and external partners. Effective communication skills to engage associates and external partners.

 

What will be your key responsibilities?

The Palatability Governance & Application Senior Scientist defines and runs a portfolio of projects that supports the Palatability Strategy:

  • Technical leadership – Implementation Projects

    • Leads the implementation of new solutions, working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

    • Global R&D key contact, responsible for connecting global and regional teams, providing technical support.

    • Co-lead the project feasibility study.

  • Responsible for briefing, prototyping, design of experimental, testing (pilot and industrial scale) and implementing validated solutions.

  • Key R&D contact at MARS Pet Nutrition for suppliers and other external partners, as well as internal stakeholders, being responsible for developing collaborative relationships.

  • Responsible for ensuring governance and knowledge management on topics related to Palatants.

  • Responsible for generating ideas and framing new opportunities to ensure efficient portfolio of palatability/flavor solutions, based on the investigation of current status and on business needs.  

  • Technical member of Palatability/Flavor related projects.
