GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, the Annual Giving Specialist will help to support and increase philanthropic production across a wide range of annual giving fundraising activities. The Annual Giving Specialist is responsible for all stages of planning and executing assigned Annual Giving fundraising tasks for the Development Office. The Annual Giving Specialist will play a pivotal role in our nationally renowned Employee & Physician Campaign and our premier cancer fundraiser and peer-to-peer platform Game On Cancer. This position will also support the planning and execution of our direct mail, telefund and digital solicitations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations primarily and provide additional support to the annual giving team members to ensure annual goals and objectives are accomplished and operations run efficiently

  • Maintain and refine internal processes that supports the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations to coordinate internal and external resources and expedite workflows.

  • Participates in the planning and execution of all annual giving campaigns. Collaborates with Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, campaign leaders and other Henry Ford Health team members to help coordinate campaign duties, tasks and events.

  • Supports campaign activation activities across Henry Ford Health and in support of Game On Cancer, which includes running 50/50 raffle at Detroit Lions home games.

  • Works closely with appropriate Development Office team members to solicit or support solicitations for funding, sponsorship and in-kind donations from multiple sources.

  • Works closely with diverse volunteer committees and groups as appropriate providing training, coordination or other activities as needed.

  • Balances “competing” events and multiple assignments within the same time period through careful planning, flexibility and diplomacy.

  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.

  • Performs other responsibilities or assignments as required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • It is preferred that applicants at minimum hold a Bachelor's degree from four-year College. In lieu of educational credentials applicants must have a minimum of three years of working in the nonprofit sector. In this case applicants will be asked to demonstrate growth in responsibilities .
