Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years). The incumbent will successfully seek privileges in clinical care of patients as applicable and will be able to independently and competently perform the following diagnostic and interventional procedures: Interpretation utilizing PACS system with voice recognition of complete range of Diagnostic modalities including X-ray imaging, a wide range of fluoroscopic exams including G.I. studies, ultrasound, Body/MSK/Neuro MRI, CT, and PET/CT, performs a variety of needle biopsies under appropriate imaging guidance, joint injections/arthrograms, lumbar puncture/myelograms, percutaneous drainage of chest and abdominal fluid collections (paracentesis/thoracentesis/abscess drainage), and PICC line placements.

The Service Chief is accountable for the administration of the service line to include:
- Planning for the provision of care, including adequate personnel, diagnostic equipment, and supplies to ensure availability of those procedures which are appropriate to the needs of the facility.
- Providing a timely and quality product. Implements and evaluates quality assurance metrics.
- Equitable radiologist duty assignments which are appropriate to training and experience.
- Development of, and adherence to, standard procedures and protocols.
- Monitoring of activities which improve patient safety, performance, and quality.
- Maintaining a safe medical imaging environment.
- Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality of patient medical information.
- Ensuring accurate CPT coding and assignment of workload as well as DSS resource mapping and physician labor mapping parameters.
- Ensuring compliance with federal statues, VHA directives and polices, The Joint Commission standards, and all other applicable regulations and directives.
