Scale Inspector

Weitsman Recycling is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and reliable individual to join our team as an Outside Scale Inspector. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately monitoring and overseeing the weighing of incoming and outgoing materials using our scale systems. Your attention to detail will help ensure all weights are precise, compliant with company policies, and adhere to industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Weighing Operations:
   • Monitor electronic scales to accurately measure the weights of incoming and outgoing materials.
   • Ensure adherence to established weighing procedures and standards.
   • Conduct routine checks and calibrations of scales for accuracy.
2. Quality Assurance:
   • Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from contaminants.
   • Identify and report discrepancies in material types and weights.
3. Documentation and Recordkeeping:
   • Maintain accurate records of material weights, transactions, and any discrepancies observed.
   • Generate and submit daily reports to the appropriate departments.
4. Communication:
   • Collaborate with other team members, scale operators, and supervisors to address any issues or concerns related to weighing processes.
   • Provide timely feedback to drivers and customers regarding weighing procedures and results.
5. Safety and Compliance:
   • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry.
• Knowledge of weighing equipment and scales.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move materials as needed.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
