*$1,500 Sign On Bonus for external hires only*
The Altoids Rover Operator is a critical position between what processing produces and what packaging sends to its customers. Some of the tasks of the rover operator include organizing and weighing totes, adequately recording WIP inventories, able to supply and remove totes from the packaging loading stations, and supplying processing operators with moisture samples on a routine basis. The Rover Operator is a member of the Altoids Mints Production team and will be responsible for performing daily tasks as well as communicating the previous shifts results and communication of their daily performance to the oncoming shift.
Job Accountabilities
• Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning out loading stations, cleaning and inspecting conveyor belts, and returning rework to WIP inventory
• Maintain physical inventories of ingredients by completing SAP transactions and staging
• Complete frequent observation of work-in-process and the completion of required recording, such as Quality Control Point sheets and Weever forms
• This position will be required to cross train in various positions in the processing department
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Ability to recognize, isolate, and escalate product quality issues
- Support peers in achieving highest Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards throughout the processing area
- Be responsible for the achievement of GMP processing requirements
- Able to work overtime as needed
- Ability to pass a lift “walk behind” evaluation form
- Ability to safely lock out all area disconnects as well as having the ability to safely perform minor intervention on process loading stations
- Ensure cleaning regimes are upheld and fulfilled to the highest standard
- Actively participate in operational processes that support the improvement of our business performance
Skills Required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills required to calculate ingredient inventory counts
• Ability to read, write and communicate in basic work-related English
• Pallet jack operation
• Participate as a team player in accomplishing all company goals and objectives
Physical requirements:
- frequent lifting/carrying/pushing (1-50 lbs.)
- frequent handling/reaching of various products
- frequent fine finger movements
- frequent communication with processing and packaging operators
- frequent walking
