The Air Quality Manager is responsible for the Corporation's overall compliance with air regulations and provisions of the Environmental Cooperative Agreement. This position also serves as the Corporate Environmental Management Representative with responsibility for maintaining ISO 14001 registration. This position also serves as Department Head for the Environmental Management Department.

  • Responsible for cohesive operation of the Environmental Management Department.
  • Responsible for preparation, submittal and resolution of review issues for all air permits.
  • Communicates air permit requirements to facilities and promotes environmental improvement.
  • Ensures annual submittal of Air Emission and Toxic Release Inventory Reports.
  • Prepares and submits Annual Cooperative Environmental Agreement Report.
  • Coordinates maintenance of the environmental management system meeting the ISO 14001 Standard.
  • Prepares and submits air compliance/deviation reports.
  • Maintains air emission expertise and conducts air compliance evaluations.
  • Conducts new material evaluations via (Material) Safety Data Sheet reviews relative to regulatory restrictions, environmental impact and specific plant environmental objectives and targets.
  • Coordinates and conducts Interested Persons Group meetings.
  • Leads effort to obtain and maintain Green Tier status for Sparta, and West Salem facilities.

  • Bachelor of Science degree (preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be assertive when needed, expressing opinions, questioning decisions and pursuing changes.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Good computer skills; Word and Excel.
  • Self-directed with good problem-solving skills.
  • Regulatory language comprehension and interpretive skills with knowledge of Wisconsin and Minnesota air regulations.
  • Good supervisory/management skills
