Overview:
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will drive engineering best practices and integrate parallel work streams. You will implement innovative solutions such as process improvements and cultural changes across diverse teams. You will be responsible for the end-to-end feature release process, ensuring operational excellence through meticulous management of alarms, monitoring, telemetry, and comprehensive documentation. Balancing short and long-term technical needs, you will produce secure, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry standards. Your ability to communicate technical designs and decisions clearly and effectively will be crucial, as you lead by example in developing automation tools to optimize day-to-day operations. Mastery of the internal ServiceNow environment, including database layers, will empower you to provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering best practices within our organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices and effectively integrate parallel work streams.
- Implement non-technical solutions such as process improvements and cultural changes across multiple teams.
- Manage end-to-end feature release processes, ensuring operational excellence with alarms, monitoring, telemetry, documentation, and retrospective/RCA processes.
- Balance short and long-term technical needs, producing secure, efficient, and maintainable code that meets industry standards.
- Communicate technical designs and decisions clearly and effectively.
- Develop automation tools to optimize day-to-day operations.
- Master the internal ServiceNow environment, including database layers.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to promote best practices.
- Design, configure, and deploy new application modules, workflows, and catalog requests on ServiceNow.
- Customize ServiceNow solutions, including screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, custom scripting, and integrations with third-party software.
- Create and automate integrations using APIs and data integration processes between ServiceNow and other services.
- Maintain Service Catalog Items and Knowledge Bases effectively.
- Collaborate with IT Service Management Team and key stakeholders to understand and meet business requirements.
- Architect integrations with LDAP, Single Sign-on, Mid server, Web-services, Email, and other technologies within ServiceNow.
- Participate in scaling ServiceNow applications for future growth.
- Perform technical configurations, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks.
- Ensure application security and data integrity within ServiceNow.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to ServiceNow configuration.
- Identify and implement opportunities for platform improvements.
- Apply strategic thinking to design scalable solutions effectively.
- Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
- Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
- Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.
Job Requirements:
- At least 5 years of ServiceNow development in enterprise environments.
- 5+ years' experience with relational databases, including development and performance optimization.
- Experience in HTML, Angular, and JavaScript.
- Deep knowledge of SQL, AJAX, JSON, XML, CSS, REST/SOAP, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency with customizing, administering, and configuring ServiceNow.
- Expertise in Service Catalog and Service Portal within ServiceNow.
- Experience with code versioning tools like Git, Serena, SVN.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and ability to manage sprints and stories in hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience with Utah and Washington, DC releases of ServiceNow (preferred).
- Proven track record integrating ServiceNow with other applications.
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time) Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
- Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
- Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
- Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes
