JOB SUMMARY

Marriott has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer Loyalty Partner Engineering team. This role is part of the team focused on building out our next generation partner integrations. Appropriate candidates have a passion for emerging technologies with a vision for building next generation capabilities and a strong drive for success.

In this role you will function as a technical expert and lead engineer for the Loyalty Partner Engineering team. You will perform research, analysis, design and development on a wide range of next generation data capabilities and products. You will set technical standards and develop reusable frameworks to ensure consistent and efficient creation of capabilities and products.

You will assume technical ownership on team deliverables and lead technical resources to ensure deliverables are of high quality, follow our technical standards, best practices and perform at scale.

In addition, you will research emerging technologies that will provide future capabilities as well as seek solutions for complex technical issues. You will make decisions on complex, non-routine requests to support company strategy based decisioning by Marriott business teams.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • 8+ years’ experience in software development with expert level expertise in multiple programming languages and methodologies

  • 5+ years in Object Oriented Design and development concepts

  • 5+ years designing and developing high performance, scalable JAVA applications using:

  • Java EE, Spring Microservices

  • Relational and NoSQL databases

  • XML, JavaScript, JSON, APIs

  • 2+ years with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Dynatrace or Splunk

  • Experience with Play framework, Spring Boot and/or Spring Reactive applications

  • Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment

  • 4+ years’ technical delivery ownership of large scale enterprise applications

  • 3+ years’ experience developing on AWS

  • 2+ years’ experience with AWS S3 and Lambda

  • Strong technical leader with proven ability to lead technical resources

  • Strong communication skills

  • AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification

  • Experience with event-based technologies.

Preferred:

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • Experience with Airflow, Python, COBOL, DB2, Harness and/or other technologies

  • Experience with Data Governance Tools such as Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog

The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $179,270 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
