Position Overview:
Provides medical services within the scope of licensing, training, and credentialing, in accordance with specialty for patients of all ages, under the Physician's supervision. Must meet credentialing requirements, as applicable, and must demonstrate clinical competency in the area of Medicine.
Essential Functions:
- Obtain a relevant health and medical history.
- Identify medical health risks and needs.
- Update and record changes in health status.
- Formulate Diagnosis and Implement Treatment Plan
- Order appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Determine treatment plan of care.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacological agents.
- Prescribe non-pharmacological agents.
- Develop a client education plan.
- Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies.
- Schedule return appointments for follow-up care, as necessary, according to best practice standards of care.
- Provide educational opportunities for each patient.
- Respond to tasks and complete charting in a timely manner to prevent any delay in care and promote coordination of care.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews, peer reviews, etc., including systematic review of records and treatment plans.
- Prepare reports and other documentation as required.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
