Summary

The psychologist will perform Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims mental health conditions for (e.g. PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, MST and eating disorders) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. Comprehensive mental health exams will require a mental health assessment and medical opinions and no treatment plan or follow-up.

  • Location: Seeing Veterans in person at our clinic in Peoria.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Remuneration: This position supports a Service Contract Ace (SCA) where the hourly wage is determined by the Department of Labor (DOL). The hourly wage for this position is $54.69 and is eligible for health and welfare (H&W) fringe benefit of an additional $4.23 an hour. $58.92/hour =$122,553/year

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – Ph.D./Psy.D. Degree from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program.
  • Licensure –Must hold an active, current, and unrestricted Psychologist license.

Key Roles:

  • Perform comprehensive mental health examinations for PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, MST (military sexual trauma), and eating disorders.
  • Perform medical opinion writing as the subject matter expert for mental health claims.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality complying with HIPAA and VA rules and procedures.
  • Standard outpatient assessments/evaluations.
  • Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as required by the reviewer’s manager.
