Position: Hybrid Full-Time
*Regular travel for social media & PR events in NYC. Select travel for social media & PR events nationwide & Canada.
** This role will include evenings and weekends to align with community activity on our social channels and brand requirements.
Job Overview:
This role is for a passionate and ambitious Social Media Manager who can accelerate the impact of social media to really drive brand awareness and talkability for Lanolips. You will be responsible for building and executing Lanolips' social strategy, with a heavy focus on community management, influencer relationships, and delivering strong, extensive organic coverage across all platforms, namely Tik Tok and lnstragram. You will also be creating compelling content in tandem with Lanolips' Australian PR Agency, working closely with our US PR Agency to deliver organic coverage, and translating marketing and product messaging through our social platforms whilst staying true to Lanolips' aesthetic and brand values.
Lanolips currently has 50K followers on Tik Tok and 144K followers on lnstagram. The role will hit the ground running with ideas and strategies to double our Tik Tok followers in year 1 and develop a compelling, always-on Tik Tok strategy to drive brand awareness. You must be passionate about social media, possess strong leadership potential, and are a true self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead an always-on Social Media strategy: establish viral and engagement driven growth tactics and content curation for all social channels, with a heavy focus on TikTok. Oversee all deliverables, community management and growth and engagement goals. Build and execute a differentiated channel strategy across TikTok, lnstagram, YouTube, Pinterest, communicating and holding true to Lanolips' DNA and brand values. Build social media strategies and campaigns that are within budget with strong reach - this will require an entrepreneurial, resourceful, and nimble mindset. React to Tik Tok and pop culture trends quickly and effectively, while staying true to Lanolips' brand ethos Collaborate with the creative team: Work closely with designers and content creators to develop compelling visuals and videos that align with Lanolips's brand identity. Oversee social media community engagement: Foster meaningful interactions with our audience, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and authentic manner.
- Produce monthly and quarterly analytics reporting processes, including influencer and social media results and provide insights, recommendations, and track against KPls identifying areas for improvement and optimization to wider leadership team.
- Identify a team of influencers to serve as brand ambassadors for Lanolips ambassadors to amplify Lanolips's reach and engagement. Continue to refine and hone the brand ambassador team, growing it each year in terms of partnership and scope.
Rough breakdown of workday time allocation:
Social Strategy - 15% of week
- Building 360 social strategy around Lanolips social platforms for USA
Influencer management - 45% of week.
- Hustling here is the critical solid ground-zero work. Reaching out and offering product to relevant influencers - 20-30 per day(?) tba. Building brand advocates with a focus on Influencers that are not exposed to Lanolips yet. Being on-top of personalised opportunities like birthdays or complaining about dry lips. Include Derms/Cosmetic Chemists (and similar influencers with authority) in the influencer programme.
Social Loop Feedback-10% of week
- Spotting Tik Tok/ IG trends or relevant social conversations and communicating in real-time to the content creation team in AU.
- Identify a team of influencers to serve as brand ambassadors for Lanolips ambassadors to amplify Lanolips's reach and engagement. Continue to refine and hone the brand ambassador team, growing it each year in terms of partnership and scope.
- From time-to-time content will be created by you if relevant or time sensitive.
Mass sampling opportunities - 20%
ie. college programme, cheerleader conference, basically looking out for en mass physical sampling opportunities to the right audience.Other duties - 10% of week.
Reporting, analysis, Local and Intl Agency liaison, etc.ALSO:

3-5 years' experience of managing social marketing content and strategy (must include meaningful experience across TikTok including growing social follower counts/virality) Social media obsessed You possess an understanding of digital and social platforms, emerging social technologies/platforms, and internet trends and culture Extensive experience and understanding of TikTok Content Creator by nature, possess content creation skills, added plus if you are an influencer in your own right You're passionate about community building through social media and have a genuine passion for proactive and reactive community engagement. Ability to incorporate humor and trends into comments and posts Understand that social media isn't always 9-5 and can plan your time and schedule around peak moments - pop culture & Tik Tok trends wait for no one. Communicative, trustworthy, and able to meet and anticipate deadlines Strong copywriting & copy-editing skills Team management and leadership-
