Duties

This position is located in the Division of Data Management, Zuni Service Unit, Zuni, New Mexico. This position directs a comprehensive hospital-wide infection control program, develop and implement Infection Control policies and procedures, assures infection surveillance program plans are in compliance with The Joint Commission and other accrediting agencies. Provides supervision to the Environmental Services department. This position reports to the Supervisory Health System Specialist (Quality Manager).

  • Directs a comprehensive hospital-wide infection control program. Develops infection control policies and procedures.
  • Participates in formal strategic and operation planning for infection control services.
  • Monitors and documents surveillance/performance improvement activities to ensure compliance with the standards. Makes regular scheduled and impromptu rounds in addition to the tracer rounds to assure staff are up-to-date and complaint with infection prevention issues.
  • Assures infection surveillance program plans are in compliance with The Joint Commission and other accrediting agencies.
  • Provides supervision to the Environmental Services Department. Assist the Environmental Services supervisor to develop and implement a fully functional infection control program.
