Basic FunctionThe Product Systems and Specification Management Engineer provides engineering support to North America polymer and circular polymer businesses by working with appropriate internal organizations, 3rd party agencies and customers to define, approve, and implement various types of product systems and specifications. This position drives the improvement of processes and systems used to manage product specifications, product quality practices, product development Stage Gate efforts and related information and data. This role also leads reviews of commercial and manufacturing capabilities against market requirements to optimize risk and cost, including management of change.
Roles & Responsibilities- Assessment of current systems/processes to highlight opportunities for improvement
- Drive harmonization efforts across business units and regions that simplify master data maintenance and provide value to the business
- Drive improvements of systems and procedures aimed at optimizing the management of specifications, product quality assurance, and product/market development. Work with business stakeholders and the IT organization to design, implement, maintain, and improve effective technical business processes.
- Lead or influence the setting of product specifications and steward change management. Update relevant product master data in appropriate business systems including specifications, formulations and commercial technical product information.
- Manage new grade implementation including master data, product specifications, etc. to support corporate sustainability initiatives
- Manage product design review process (including data mining and statistical analysis) to ensure process alignment across businesses and product lines.

- Internal: Technical Managers, Engineers & Researchers, Marketing, Business, and Supply Chain, Account Managers & Specialists, Manufacturing and Production Engineers, Laboratory Specialists, Product Safety Consultants, IT, and direct global counterparts
- Customer: Purchasing Managers, Technical Managers, Process Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers
- Industry Associations and Regulatory Bodies: Legislators, Standards Groups, and other Industry experts
- The candidate must have 0 to 5 years of industry experience and must be able to demonstrate courage, collaborate well, and be an effective communicator (both written and oral). Must also be customer focused, results oriented, problem solver, and have advanced project management and leadership skills.
- Position requires a University / College Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Previous Experience in project management, change management, statistics, SAP, PowerBI, Accolade, and advanced Excel skills are preferred
