  • Operations: Assists the Operations Team with oversight of the systems that support all 5 camps during the summer.  This includes facility readiness, laundry service, paging service and communication, transportation and driving, food service, trip gear, day off house readiness, and emergency actions and incident reporting.
     
  • Rocks and Ropes: Help provide expert on-the-trail assistance for setting anchor and single pitch top rope rock climbing trips in the Adirondacks. 
     
  • Wilderness Trip Leaders: We believe we are not separate from the land, the water, and the life all around us. Our trips staff are key to sharing the beauty and adventure of hiking, canoeing, and rock climbing. We’re looking for trips staff for almost all of our camps to lead small groups of a variety of genders and ages.  The Trip Staff role is hired to take the lead role in leading canoeing, hiking and/or rock-climbing trips for campers. Trip staff will lead 2 trips during each 3-week session of camp. Our trips range from 2 night and 3-day trips to 4 night and 5-day trips. We send campers out according to age and offer various levels of challenge (e.g., elevation, distance). Our trips take place in Vermont and New Hampshire (Green Mountain National Forest; Long Trail, White Mountains) and we also send a few trips to Western Maine and the Adirondacks in New York. Trips generally have two staff – one trip staff and one non-trip staff, and 6-8 campers. 

One of several ways we organize camp is by “activity area.” Over a session, campers rotate through a series of our signature activity areas, including Barns & Gardens, Creative Arts, Outdoor Living Skills, Rocks and Ropes, Waterfront, and Work Projects. The Activity Area Head supervises 4-8 staff and supports the planning and executing of high-quality programming in their area. At times, they will teach or lead activities and work directly with campers.

We have 2 Activity Area Head openings we are looking to fulfill:

  • Work Projects Head: In Work Projects, campers immerse themselves in carpentry and construction; learning to work with tools; doing small and big projects. Work Projects Head help create lessons for their work projects staff to lead. Mentoring staff as they lead activities and emphasize safety, planning, technique, and creativity. 
     
  • Waterfront Head: The goal of the Waterfront Head is creating a strong waterfront team that focuses on improving camper’s comfort and skill in the water. Including boating activities (canoe, kayak, and rowboat). Current life guarding and/or water safety instructors' certification preferred, although we will pay for you to recert.
