Job Description:

ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to support ongoing activities under the Kirtland AFB Engineering Operations Services (KEOS) contract in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Summary:

The Sheet Metal Worker performs general inspection, repair, and general maintenance of building exterior and interior systems to preserve integrity of water seal and ensure effective delivery of conditioned air to enhance energy conservation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all sheet metal work complies with Kirtland AFB Design Guide Standards and federal, state, and local building codes.

  • Responds to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoots and performs repairs as needed. Performs tasks to fulfill service requirements and account for time and material in accordance with contractual requirements for emergency, routine, and preventative work tasks.

  • Completes necessary documentation in accordance with the company’s processes and the customer’s service requirements.

  • Communicates with central dispatch, and shop supervisor on current work order status and receives updates on outstanding customer issues daily following the service process(es).

  • Participates in an after-hours on-demand service program.

  • Accomplishes sheet metal fabrication and assembly on maintenance and construction projects.

  • Performs layout and fabrication of ductwork, and building components, using mechanical fasteners or welding.

  • Accomplishes a variety of sheet metal fabrications for heating and ventilation systems and building components using a variety of sheet metal forming tools and equipment.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

  • Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.

  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other construction professionals.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum education level of high school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • One (1) year of sheet metal fabrication and assembly in commercial or manufacturing spaces.

  • One (1) year of commercial overhead and rollup door installation and maintenance.

  • Be able to read and interpret building diagrams and technical manuals.

  • Competency in basic mathematic skills including fractions, addition, subtraction, division.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

  • Must have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.

  • Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.

  • Have ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.

  • Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Technical College or formal Trade Program training.

  • Two (2) years of sheet metal fabrication and overhead/rollup door installation and maintenance in commercial or manufacturing spaces.
