What Youll Do:

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on individual to join our team as a Prototype Technician. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of power tools and a genuine passion for building things. The role involves not only the construction of prototypes but also maintaining a clean and organized shop environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Fabricates models of new connected pet products using various materials and techniques, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Collaborates with design and engineering teams to interpret product specifications and create detailed models that reflect the final product's appearance and functionality.
Utilizes hand and power tools, 3D printing machines, CNC machining, and traditional model-making tools to produce prototypes and mock-ups.
Participates in part finishing techniques such as bondo application, painting, and sanding.
Prioritizes aesthetic appeal while transforming plastic 3D prints into visually stunning models and functional prototypes.
Conduct tests and evaluations on models to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
Maintains a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that tools and materials are properly maintained and stocked.
Stays current on industry trends and advancements in model-making technology to improve processes and techniques continuously.
Comfortably handles the removal of plastic 3D prints from machines, ensuring a seamless transition to the finishing process.
Occasionally performs repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.
Will perform additional responsibilities when required
Requirements:

What Youll Bring:

Associate's Degree and/or equivalent years of experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, ideally in the development of consumer products
Experience as a Prototype Technician, showcasing a self-starter mentality
Comfortable with hand and power tools, demonstrating technical proficiency
Extensive experience in part finishing techniques, including bondo, painting, and sanding
Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with precision
Ability to transform 3D prints into aesthetically pleasing and functional prototypes
Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

Not Required but Nice to Have

Operates 3D printers, CNC or other professional machinery at home
Not required to have pets but highly recommended
