The Lead Referral Coordinator is a highly motivated person who will bring a positive attitude, which supports a positive working environment for the team. The Lead will demonstrate strong listening and communication skills, acknowledging patients/team concerns, and will always ensure that we are meeting patients needs. While also maintaining proficiency in all duties of a Referral Coordinator, the Lead will act as a coach to improve team members skills and competencies. The Lead will be responsible to ensure that all team members are delivering the highest quality service to our customers.

The Lead Referral Coordinator meets all the requirements for the Referral Coordinator and is proficient in all areas. Demonstrates and commits to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional customer service. The Lead will be a patient advocate, a motivator, a coach, an organizer, and a good communicator. Along with the Director and Supervisor, they will be responsible for the daily functions of the department, which includes 900+ providers and/or 100 + practice locations. The lead will practice the lean principles and embrace process improvement. They will exhibit and demonstrate these principles by leading rounding with the staff daily, tracking all process improvements, and communicating these to the management team. The lead will be responsible for guiding and monitoring the team with the workflow processes. They will bring a positive attitude, which supports a positive working environment for the team. In addition, This person will monitor team calls and review the results with the team to provide support and training as needed. One expectation of this job is to lead and coach team members to enable them to meet or exceed their key performance indicators, improve their skills and competencies. This person will be a main influence on how the team performs, and therefore, how our department performs. This job requires a highly motivated person that is capable addressing many different tasks in what is often a challenging environment. The lead will manage and resolve team/patient complaints and communicate to the management team. The lead will participate in the interviewing process, provide staff training to new hires following the guidelines, and offer and assume the supervisory role in the absence of the Supervisor or Director. The Lead must maintain their proficiency in all duties of a Referral Coordinator and will continue to achieve exceptional quality scores/error rate and be cross trained to schedule in ALL service lines.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 2 years Scheduling experience. 2 years Customer Service experience. 1-year Referrals/Authorization experience.
