We are seeking a talented, attentive, and uniquely qualified individual to join our growing practice as an on-site laborist for our private practice at Northwell/LIJ Medical Center.
The Woman's Health Pavilion is a dynamic, growing practice consisting of 12 physicians and 20 midlevel practitioners with offices throughout Queens and Nassau, New York. We deliver our maternity patients exclusively at the Northwell Health/LIJ Medical Center, a clean and modern tertiary teaching hospital with ample on-site support.
The laborist position is based in a single hospital, with 100% of attention directed towards private patients on our active maternity service. The "flex" schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week on weekdays is ideal for the candidate who needs well-defined work hours and a fixed schedule; the weekend commitment amounts to only one 12-hour shift every three weeks. We provide midwifery support in L&D as well as NP support for ante- and post-partum rounds. We attend to most urgent gyn cases at another site, so you can focus your attention on the laboring patients who need you the most.
We are seeking a Board-certified candidate with a passion for obstetrics and a genuine devotion to patient care. The ideal candidate is comfortable in high-pressure environments, knows when to ask for help, demonstrates and earns respect for peers, and enjoys an academic teaching environment. We require a physician who is current in their thinking, and evidence-based in their process.
Our obstetric team is cohesive and communicative, and we encourage a no-drama workplace.
The package includes:
