JOB SUMMARY:



The primary responsibility will be to efficiently and effectively oversee the Production, Packaging, Warehousing, and Maintenance and Sanitation departments within the budgeted guidelines while maintaining the highest quality and food safety standards.



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Oversee and direct Production Manager, Supervisors, leads, and +/- 160 employees in the plant. Train and develop the production department to maximize profitability and on-time delivery of high-quality products to the customers. Overall administrative responsibility for the production, warehouse and Expediting (such as performance reviews, downtime tracking, waste tracking, disciplinary actions, staff scheduling, safety trainings, safety awareness, etc.). Overall performance of the Production, Packaging, Warehouse and Expediting of products. This includes all and any KPI from these areas as well as labor for each area. Accountable for labor hours, efficiency of plant, minimizing waste and downtime. Reviews production/operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, warehouse, safety and maintenance issues in a timely manner. Develops, recommends and implements changes in working conditions to improve employee performance and product quality. Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to VP of Operations and HR for further action. Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times and submit to VP of Operations



Participate as an active member of the Management Team. Prepares and presents data to the VP of Operations on plant performance on a weekly and



monthly basis



Ensures that Managers and Supervisors have training tools for training operators in their departments related to plant policies, GMPâs and equipment in the plant OEE, Waste, Downtime, etc. Takes responsibility for all activities on the site in the absence of senior management Maintain the Continuous Improvement Process that will be developed by the VP of Operations and help implement CI Project teams. Ensures that the CI program is working throughout the plant and that all supervisors, operators and leads are participating in such program Works closely with the VP of Operations in areas of the plant to ensure good performance Work closely with department managers as a team to achieve set goals for the Plant Review and restart Dispo tool for Expediting and Inventory control Work closely with the schedule planner and purchasing to ensure minimal interruption in production lines Work closely with QA to resolve any sanitation, product spec, complaints, training of employees, etc. Ensure that everyone is following company rule, policies and procedures. Recommend new ways of working to improve performance and discuss in Plant meetings every week to decide course of action Help production Manager establish production meeting with Operators, Leads and Supervisorâs  Maintained continuity of the daily meetings in the with managers, supervisors and operators and expand to other shifts Help develop yearly budgets for production on OEE, Waste, labor, etc



Other duties may be assigned.



Responsible for Food Safety and Quality requirements pertaining to SQF, GMP and any other legal or legislative rules and/or regulations.



 



Education/Experience:



Bachelorâs degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year College or technical school; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
