Position Description:

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking an Electronic Technician to join our Service Repair Department in New Hartford, NY.

Position Location: New Hartford, NY (On-Site)

Reports To: Group Leader, Hardware

What We're Looking For:

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Electronics or a Computer-Centric field.
  • At least one year of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of electronics principles and design.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Service, repair, install, and inspect POS products and peripherals by performing physical inspections, disassemblies, and following verbal or written instructions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications to ensure full functionality.
  • Run diagnostic programs and troubleshoot internal component failures.
  • Perform diagnostics on circuit boards, solder components at a microscopic level, test board functions, and handle light assembly.
  • Determine material or replacement needs and devise a logical repair approach; take appropriate actions to meet those needs and complete repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts and equipment for all serviced, repaired, installed, and inspected electronic products.
  • Report potentially hazardous electrical equipment to a supervisor and take steps to address the issue.
  • Develop and maintain records related to electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and use proper materials throughout electrical systems.

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $45,000 to $52,000 USD per year, based on location, experience, skills, certifications, education, and prior accomplishments.
