Business Development is responsible for leading the sales channel strategy & tactics to obtain new medical product & distribution business in Non-Acute and Physician Offices affiliated with IDNs & national/regional corporations. Responsibilities include direct sales development & new account implementation. Builds & maintains relationship with key decision makers or potential influencers. The complexity of the solution, product, or services offered is variable & can range from simple to moderately complex selling, including long sales cycle. This position acts as a key liaison between hospital systems, national/regional entities, GPO groups & internal Cardinal sales, marketing & operations teams.
[ads1] Job Responsibilities:- Effectively negotiates & collaborates with the customer & colleagues to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes & to achieve consensus
- Applies knowledge of the customer’s business to develop optimal solutions
- Collaboratively works with Cardinal field leadership & field sales team to leverage the entire Cardinal value proposition and to ensure smooth transition for optimal customer support
- Proactively demonstrates to the customer the defined value of partnering with Cardinal Health with a regular cadence, both pre- and post-sales, including building an onboarding and conversion roadmap for execution by account managers
- Builds & sustains relationships founded on trust with both customer & internal Cardinal shareholders to ensures customer satisfaction & loyalty
- Identifies & qualifies new sales opportunities & develops plans for introducing new solutions through collaborative relationships
- Proven market & product knowledge in business area
- Strong planning, forecasting, negotiation & presentation skills
- Strong communication & organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Ability to travel 50% of time, depending on customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to matrix-manage across multiple business units
- At least 3-6 years healthcare sales experience
