Director of Infection Prevention, Day Shift, Infection Control

As a Director of Infection Prevention you will:
•Partner with the Chair of the Infection Prevention Committee to develop, implement and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plan(s) throughout the facility and across the health system (as representative at the AHC HAI Committee)
•Partner with key internal and external stakeholders (leaders, physicians, local, state, and national agencies) on performance improvement activities related to infection prevention
•Oversee the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology, and relevant safety programs throughout the facility and across the health system (as representatives in flu readiness and fit-testing initiatives)
•Direct and participates in surveillance, trend analysis, and reporting of healthcare associated and community associated infections
•Participate in the state and national collaboratives in support of external reporting to the CDC NHSN system, and other relevant quality organizations as stipulated by the health system
•Serve as authority on with responsibility for ensuring appropriate intervention and education with team members, volunteers and medical staff when healthcare infection trends, outbreaks or non-compliance to infection prevention/OSHA are identified throughout the facility and across the health system
Qualifications include:
•Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, medical technology, public health, or other healthcare science
•5-10 years CIC/infection prevention experience
•Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience
•Must be board certified in Infection Prevention
•Specialty training in Infection Prevention through accredited continuing education

Tobacco and Drug Statement
Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
