Expected Duration: 2 years contract
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr on W2
Job Description:
Position Overview: Under the guidance of supervision, the Laboratory Assistant supports technical personnel in various general laboratory operations and routine tasks related to scientific research. The role involves performing assigned duties following established methods and protocols provided by the work group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist technical staff in conducting laboratory experiments and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments for use.
- Follow standardized protocols and procedures accurately and meticulously.
- Handle and dispose of laboratory materials, chemicals, and hazardous waste according to safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory workspaces.
- Record and compile experimental data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support data analysis and documentation under supervision.
- Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in science or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
