Vaco is currently hiring for a Controller for our client in Kenosha, WI.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Property management accounting (apartment ideal)
  • Responsible for the financial statements and financial operations.
  • Monitor company financials against budgeted expectations and provide insights into any variances.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecast
  • Oversee and review and annual calculations for CAM charges.
  • Prepares for the disbursement or transfer of funds to vendors, owners, and home buyers.
  • Prepares any complex journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset tracking and cross entity charges.
  • Leads and develops team of 4-5 accountants
  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to examine and analyze existing policies and procedures
  • Manage financial reporting process
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting required; CPA certification preferred
  • Seven to ten years related experience
  • Familiarity with GAAP and technical accounting standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Proficient on AppFolio software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
