The DoubleTree Minneapolis Airport in Bloomington, MN is looking to hire a Hotel Maintenance Engineer.

We are one of the largest Hotels in the state with 472 guestrooms. During the week our hotel is occupied primarily by business travelers who stay with Marriott because they have an expectation for a very high level of satisfaction. During the weekend, our hotel changes hats and fills with guests in town for leisure, sporting events, competitions and travelers with the same level of expectations.

We are looking for an energetic person who is ready to take the next step in his/her career as a full-time maintenance engineer. Our hotel offers a fast paced environment for someone who understands the importance of anticipating the needs of our guests and will work to meet them. This person will be participating in the preventative maintenance program, responding to guest requests and performing other work as assigned.

We hire people who:

  • Are motivated to provide a superior customer service experience to all guests.
  • Have hotel, residential housing or retail experience.
  • Are knowledgeable about hotel electrical and mechanical equipment and have experience in the field of building maintenance and/or hotel maintenance.
  • Are able to perform common engineering tasks; plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, painting, etc. and are driven to accomplish work assignments within given time restrictions.
  • Are team players that are able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enjoy the satisfaction of anticipating and solving problems by effectively listening to, understanding and clarifying issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Are proud to maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • building maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
