Position Objective:

Smashbox is looking for an Associate, Social Content and Community Management who excels at social media strategy execution, publishing, content creation, and thrives on beauty and pop-culture. Seeking a passionate storyteller who has a proven track record executing social channels while working within a highly collaborative team. Must be able to execute quickly and manage time well.

Will creatively and proactively engage consumers online to drive favorable affinity for the Smashbox brand, and as our Community Manager, the candidate will uphold the brand tone and voice across social media channels. He/she will be responsible for responding to fans across priority social channels through meaningful and helpful engagements, and will manage approved consumer responses, proactively flag opportunities to the team, and work with strategy and analytics to provide insights and recommendations based on what the community is saying.

S/he must also have solid research, writing and editing skills, and have an appreciation for how social media impacts the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

Social

· Execute the social content strategy and calendar that incorporates product launches, key shopping periods, and "always on" social content programming linked to brand equity and priorities, platform relevance and consumer targeting, to engage and grow audience, commercial opportunities, community engagement and site traffic.

· Participate in brainstorms with cross-functional teams to surface and gather new, innovative ways to create social content and programs.

· Work on strategic partnership opportunities with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social platforms.

· Support the development of assets with strong storytelling and creative thinking with an eye for content that will resonate and engage our target consumer.

· Create content across all channels that reflects the brand voice and resonates with platform's audience. Work closely with Social Media Manager on content support. Must have experience creating content, coming up with content ideas, and editing/posting.

· Lead publishing, organization and content mapping, ensuring that all posts are accurate and punctual.

· Advise on copywriting for social media posts.

Insights and Analytics

· Execute social reporting to deliver monthly, quarterly and yearly reports, and use this analysis as a guide to influence content strategy.

· Stay apprised of emerging social media technologies, trends, and industry news that align with the brands' marketing and business goals.

· Scour platforms for on-brand UGC in real time for potential social calendar inclusion.

· Support social listening efforts and contribute to metrics reports using standardized tools and craft analyses based on the data.

Community Management

· Help engage consumers and influencers throughout social to drive favorable brand conversations and consumer relationships via diligent community management. Respond to questions and comments with speed and judgment, escalating issues as needed; identify trends in consumer comments and funnel information to the appropriate teams.

· Exemplify the brand voice and tone in all community interactions

· Practice both active and passive community management. Engage in conversations not only on the Smashbox account but ensure Smashbox is entering in culturally relevant conversions.

Qualifications

· Minimum 2 years of social media management, publishing, writing and content creation required (brand or agency).

· Must be able to create and edit content. Comfortable appearing and talking on camera.

· Passion, energy, and enthusiasm for social media and expertise of all social platforms. Experience, love and knowledge of beauty landscape and beauty specific social media is a plus.

· Excellent communication, collaboration, and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.

· Demonstrated expertise in engaging and activating community group.

· Experience locating and engaging advocates within the community to foster dialogue.

· Demonstrated ability in developing on-brand messaging that best represents a brand's voice and tone online and incentivizing user-generated content creation and sharing.

· Ability to write copy that is both emotional and informational.

· Ability to help build social strategies to increase channel engagement and growth.

· Self-starter who can articulate big ideas and exciting trends. Strong eye for viral content.

· Understanding of the social ecosystem and how brands should participate in an authentic way.

· Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, You Tube, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and other emerging platforms.

· Current with pop culture, entertainment news and industry trends.

· Ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.

· A passion for working in a fast-paced environment with high level of teamwork.

· Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.

· Proficient in mobile applications as related to social media.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $62,400 to $93,250. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
