About The Role

Essity Professional Hygiene North America Inc. is looking for an experienced Competitive Intelligence Analyst who will be responsible for systematically collecting, analyzing, and reporting external market conditions and competitive knowledge which could impact Essity’s Professional Hygiene business. This person will understand the market size, competitors, and dynamics of the total Professional Hygiene market.  This role provides insight and foresight and thereby supports management in strategic decision making.

This position is based in the Philadelphia PA office in a hybrid work environment.

We're looking for someone who thrives working with data and has strong mathematical and analytical skills and is especially competent in Excel (comfortable working with large datasets).  Background in economics, finance and/or data analytics strongly recommended.  This individual must be comfortable working with various data sources to evaluate markets and business opportunities, as well as using/developing methodologies to derive/extrapolate additional quantitative and qualitative insights from existing information. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are also needed.

What You Will Do

  • Collect, compile, verify and analyze market trends and data from internal and external sources to help inform business decisions

  • Create and manage an up-to-date, consistent, and timely library of reports and data relevant to topics around the Professional Hygiene market, key competitors, segment / channel / product trends, research new information sources as needed 

  • Calculate size and growth for key markets, as well as potential new markets, from multiple perspectives (segment, channel, product, and region) 

  • Provide regular analysis of Professional Hygiene markets, including views of trends and changes in market share 

  • Consistently work to improve efficiency, accuracy, and relevancy of information collected and disseminated 

  • Monitor, analyze and report on competitor and customer news, financials, and strategic intent

  • Understand key macroeconomic indicators and trends; produce timely economic analysis and assist stakeholders in understanding their markets and the impact of economic changes 

  • Leverage strong analytic, communication and organizational skills to:

  • Prepare and present reports and documents in an accurate and timely manner to support key stakeholders in decision making, or to serve as input to other reports 

  • Support key project teams both for existing markets and new opportunities (innovations, launches, claims, etc.) 

  • Provide data, analysis, and reporting to support Sales and Marketing requests related to customer presentations, business case creation, etc. 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field, MBA is a plus

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Financial/Business

  • Ability to conduct in-depth research and document findings accordingly with strong problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong organizational skills

  • Proven ability to summarize data and turn analysis into insights as input for decision makers

  • Robust Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Understanding of macroeconomics, market trends, B2B and B2C businesses

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, cross-cultural environment

  • Thrives working with various data sources (sometimes incomplete data sets) to evaluate the market and make recommendations that drive business decisions

  • English is required, other languages are a plus

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% domestically & internationally (as needed)
