Physician (Geriatrician)

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The Geriatrics Extended Care Service Physician provides direct and indirect comprehensive patient care to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions along a continuum of care including geriatric care, skilled nursing, short term non-acute rehabilitation service, long term care, and end of life care.

The Physician evaluates and manages adults who have complex medical conditions including disorders in all of the subspecialties in the broad field of adult medicine and geriatric medicine as well as functional impairment. As part of the Geriatrics Extended Care service, the Provider works as part of an interdisciplinary team and participates in care plan meetings.

Reporting structure: Reports to Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics and Extended Care Service.

The Geriatrics Extended Care Service Physician provides direct patient care in the assigned duty stations and assist with cross coverage. Other duties will be as assigned by the supervisor based on employee competence and organizational needs.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
