This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-12. At the GS-07, GS-09, and GS-11 grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-12. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed, and no promise of promotion is implied.
Supports other statisticians by providing professional knowledge and skills through evaluating and analyzing all aspects of statistical application;
Applies knowledge of statistical theory, principles, and techniques to adapt, combine, and help develop statistical methodologies to analyze sometimes complicated datasets from a broad range of studies for a variety of disciplines;
Applies advanced statistical theories and professional knowledge in conducting research in study design and data collection and contributes to the plan and preparation of research protocols;
Performs statistical analysis for the data collected from approved research;
Communicates and interprets the statistical results to other statisticians and researchers to ensure that data are accurately reported;
Helps evaluate and analyze, either individually or as part of a team, the statistical validity of projects;
Assists with study design, statistical methodology, end point measures, reliability, and validity of the instruments, stopping rule for safety monitoring, data collection and data analysis;
Assists in developing recommendations and/or corrective actions to ensure adequate and appropriate statistical procedures are used in said projects;
Keeps team leader or supervisor and other team members informed of relevant outcomes;
Helps with data research project design and development, including small and large studies;
Collects, processes, and analyzes, data;
Use specialized software (SAS, R, SQL, Python, ESRl/ArcGIS) to prepare data to be used in statistical studies, analyze data, and produce reports;
Helps prepare data to be used in statistical studies to include integrating and matching data from multiple sources, cleaning and validating data, imputing missing values, and recoding;
Analyzes and interprets statistical data to identify relationships, trends, and any other factors as defined in the study design;
Uses verbal and written communication stills to translate technical statistical information into language understandable by key stakeholders and may be asked to communicate findings to stakeholders;
Prepares and helps prepare profiles, fact sheets, data tables, reports, intranet/internet/web content and other products documenting the results of statistical analysis;
Performs other duties as required.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
