Job Description

The Supervisor - Crossdock Warehouse Distribution is responsible for all cross-dock warehouse related duties in areas of staffing, scheduling, shipping, loading, receiving, warehouse storage, product rotation, inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safety.

What your day will look like:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train associates
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Appraise performance
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Collaborates and communicates regularly with local Sales team members on daily and long-term needs
  • Collaborates and communicates regularly with build/supply location on daily and long-term needs
  • Ensures all cross-dock loads are received and properly loaded onto local delivery vehicles before the next day sales
  • Coordinates all shipping/receiving along with transportation
  • Oversees all inventory control and product rotation
  • Manage Shipping/Receiving Department, Inventory, Repack, Gate, and Night Loading
  • Maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the units listed above
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Accurately approve and maintain employee time approval
  • Manage employee scheduling such as vacation, sick, and requested time off
  • Train employees on OSHA monthly trainings
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management


What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 12 months to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to become certified in forklift, riding pallet jack, and motorized vehicles
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Ability to work in a team environment, resolve conflicts, possess effective communication skills, i.e. verbal, reading and writing, as well as calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to work safely and securely
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
