Network Automation Engineer SME
Long-term contract (12 months +)
Location: Remote
Certifications: CCNP CCIE

Interview Process: 2-3 phone interviews, final approval
by VA
Estimate Start: within 2 weeks of approval.
Clearance: US Citizen - Public Trust

• Network Automation SME /Leader
• Hands-on scripting, software development experience.
• CCNP (CCIE level preferred)
• 15 years network, data center, network monitoring system
experience.
• Leader with polished consultative, communications skills.
• Track record for building trusted advisor relationships
with clients.
• Work well with others, be highly dependable, strong,
dedicated work ethic, self-directed, but collaborative.
• Candidates with these skills who are Veterans or close
family relatives as Veterans that understand and care
about the mission for the Dept of Veterans Affairs
• Improve the veteran's experience and their level of
support are desirable.
• SME level expertise with automation and development
of full web stack to include Advanced Python Scripting
experience and PHP full web stack is required
• Ansible IT Network Automation desirable.
• Network Management System skills - familiar with
SNMP based products such as SolarWinds, Capterra, Infoblox
and Stealthwatch to implement, operate, and advise VA is
highly preferred.
• Juniper or Aruba experience, in addition to Cisco
networking, is a plus.
• Strong LAN/WAN Networking systems management
troubleshooting with SNMP, ACL, DNS, DHCP, SSH command line
is a plus.
• Self-Starter with the ability to conduct repetitive
tasks without involvement of senior network engineering
teams.
• Identify configuration problems and analysis before
significant service availability arise.
• Discover network constructs and topologies,
including layer 3 virtual routing and VRFs as well as
subnets, routes, VLAN's, VRPP pairs and more.
• Enforce, standardize change processes and complex
network changes, at scale.
• Seasoned professional with polished client
relationship, communications, collaborative and consultative
advisory skills
• Strong technical documentation and Visio skills
