Overview

The Mascot Performer is responsible for performing at private and public events throughout the year. This position will aim to further the mascot program while continuing to develop all our mascots as a branded representative of the Cleveland Browns Organization. 

The individual selected will also be responsible for assisting in implementing successful fan engagement strategies, promoting and growing the awareness of our mascots. 

Job Summary/Responsibilities

This position is an opportunity for the candidate to perform as Chomps, the official mascot of the Cleveland Browns:

  • Perform backup mascot duties on a part-time basis.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Cleveland Browns organization.
  • Perform at various scheduled appearances including community visits, school visits, partnership events, team/fan events, and gamedays.
  • Clean and maintain the mascot suit, mascot props and equipment.
  • Will occasionally be asked to serve as a mascot handler for select appearances.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Expected Hours

  • The mascot performer hours are contingent on incoming requests.
  • Heavy appearance times are June – end of football season. 

Essential Experience/Skills

Ideal candidates for this position must have:

  • Previous mascot experience is required (collegiate or professional).
  • Basic knowledge of football.
  • A professional demeanor with the ability to interact with our fans, professional athletes, executive front office and conduct themselves accordingly.
  • Adhere to the Cleveland Browns Organization policies and procedures.
  • Act as a role model within and outside the Cleveland Browns organization.
  • Good physical, athletic condition and the ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in various weather related elements including snow, rain, wind and heat.
  • The ability and desire to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Dependable transportation to and from appearances within the Northeast Ohio area.
  • The ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work well in a fast paced and team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Animated, friendly and outgoing demeanor.
  • Dance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate using only body gestures.
  • Live in the Cleveland, OH area.
