Scientist - Biotechnology

This position is responsible for developing products in new markets as well as conducting trials and field studies. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have:

  • Bachelor's in Biological Science is required, Master's is a plus
  • Demonstrated project management experience is a must
  • Experience in biochemistry and/or microbiology would be preferred
  • Experience in an analytical lab environment and with practical experimental work (fluorometer, PCR and 16S Sequencing experience are a plus)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Project, Visio)
  • Communicates well with internal and external stakeholders and with a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical; excellent oral and written communication
  • Remains flexible with changing client requirements

Additionally, this role calls for a scientist who is:

  • A self-starter with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and thorough with the ability to handle multiple assignments, plan experiments, and prioritize tasks
  • Detail-oriented and data savvy with an acute ability to spot inconsistencies in data and ensure quality in your processes and results
  • An innovative critical thinker and problem solver motivated by complex challenges
  • Action-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision

DAY-TO-DAY WORK EXAMPLES

  • Assist in the development of ourResearch and Development program for drain and wastewater products
  • Interface with customers to support and partner with our sales teams
  • Conduct independent field trials of our products
  • Maintain accurate documentation for ISO
  • Identify potential IP and take necessary action to secure patents
  • Partner and collaborate with all divisions on new product development strategy
