At Cognizant Digital Engineering, a small cross functional team comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX designers and Big Data analysts builds higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. Small, nimble engineering teams generate collective empathy and comradery, thus increasing their ability to anticipate unforeseen development scope changes and maintain high quality deliverables. Across our US Studio system or within client development sites, our Digital Engineering teams ideate and develop innovative cloud-based solutions following a Lean-Agile process with DevOps culture. Working in Cognizant Digital Engineering provides DevOps engineers consistent opportunities to push digital boundaries while growing their exposure to transformational technologies.

The Role

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Lead Java FSE (With Angular 11+) to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

Location: Dallas, TX or Phoenix Arizona or New Jersey

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, program, test, implement and deploy software applications using the appropriate documentation, processes, and quality standards.
Provide business and project expertise when collaborating with clients, IT resources, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to identify the user requirements, assess technologies, recommend, and implement technical solutions.
Performs formal code reviews to ensure specifications and standards are met.
Applies defined code management, build, and deployment standards and practices.
Independently applies problem solving skills to investigate and research complex system problems to establish root cause and resolution.
Ensure accuracy of coding, create technical documentation; utilize software configuration, version, and quality management processes.
Work independently with minimal direct supervision; exercise independent judgment to obtain results.

Qualifications

10+ years of IT experience
Experience in Java 11 or 17, Spring Boot 2 or 3
Strong understanding and working experience of REST API, 12-factor microservice principles
Hands-on experience in Angular 11+
Exposure to CSS, HTML5, Java Script
Good understanding of different types of testing and their importance
How CICD works (what is green/blue or canary deployment)
Experience working with Nodejs or React is a nice to have.
