With the launch of our new veterinary clinics in early 2024, we are looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our Healthcare Practice Team. What you'll do:

· Empower the care team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.

· Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes.

· Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.

· Able to perform more complex surgeries and mastered the ability to provide care of complicated cases.

· Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the petâs condition; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client.

· Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.

· Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.

· Stay up to date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend continuing education meetings.

· Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.

· Positively represents the clinic in the professional community and to the public.

· Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants with escalations as needed.

· Participation in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.

· Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.

· Position may require some travel.

What you'll need:

· A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent is required

· Active State license in good standing, DEA license and other state credentials as required

· 2 - 3 yearsâ experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained

· The ability to multi-task with a high degree of integrity and accountability.

· Have exemplary listening and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Is comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals, utilizing a team-oriented environment.

· Is passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.

· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform well in a face paced, self-starter environment.

 

Physical job requirements:

· Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.

· Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

· Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.

· Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.

· Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
