Children’s Hospital at Erlanger is a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC), the highest state designation for pediatrics. It offers a full complement of pediatric subspecialists, a pediatric ER and an ICU, and a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, providing the region's highest level of critical care for infants. 

Education, Training, & Experience

Required:

Possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Child, Developmental or Behavioral Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution.Specialized training and experience in child psychology, developmental psychology, or pediatric psychology. Knowledge and familiarity with the psychological aspects of birth defects as well as urinary and fecal incontinence is highly desirable.

Experience/Skills:

Clinical Experience: New Graduates with a degree in child, developmental or behavioral psychology will be considered. Experience with children and families facing medical challenges, including birth defects, is strongly preferred.Assessment and Intervention Skills: Possess expertise in psychological assessment techniques and evidence-based intervention strategies for children. Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family systems approaches is advantageous.Empathy and Communication: Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and effectively engage with children and their families. Show sensitivity, empathy, and cultural competence in working with diverse populations.Collaboration and Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other professionals. Display strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure integrated and coordinated care.Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics, confidentiality

Energetic, compassionate and skilled Child Psychologist for our Voiding Dysfunction and Spinal Cord and Neurologic Disorders Clinical teamWill work within the division of Pediatric Urology as a Child Psychologist to play a vital role in providing neuropsychological assessment and comprehensive psychological care supporting children and their families impacted by urinary and fecal incontinence as well as birth defectsWill work under the supervision of a medical doctor with extensive expertise and interest in the field as well as has been published extensively on the role of neuropsychiatric disorders and their impact in voiding problems in children.
