Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Materials Specialist in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California.  We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities: 
Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materialsPackage, stage, and ship finished goods.  When necessary, expedite critical shipmentsAssist with cycle countingResponsible for the flow and movement of materials to and from the factoryDemonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement daily by your actions Take the initiative to resolve materials related issues with interaction from supervisor/ManagerPerform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliersComply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisorAble to work with minimum or no supervisionPractice 5S standards and keep area clean daily
Physical Demands: 
Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)Must be able to stand for long periods of time 

Basic Requirements: 
High school diploma or GED preferred.1-year experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this positionThis position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred Qualifications:

Benefits/Salary:

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $19- $21 per hour.
